Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) 1L Scholars Program
Waller is a proud participant of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity’s (LCLD) 1L Scholars Program for the summer of 2017. The firm will sponsor first-year law students to attend the 1L LCLD Scholars Summit in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from May 23rd - 25th, 2017, where they will have the opportunity to participate in mock interviews and attend seminars on networking, leadership, secrets to success, and more. The Scholars will then join Waller’s Summer Associate Program in June.
Waller’s 1L Summer Program provides rising 2L students with the opportunity to engage in live matters and assignments with attorneys across all practice areas of the firm. During the program, each summer associate will work closely with two mentors, a partner and a senior associate, who will provide structured feedback on each work assignment. Summer associates are not relegated to one practice group, but are exposed to various projects across the firm’s eight practice areas. Summer associates will contribute to current client matters and have opportunities to attend depositions, trials, hearings, negotiations and client conferences. Throughout the program, numerous social functions afford opportunities to get to know Waller partners and associates on a personal level and enjoy the vibrant city of Nashville.
Waller is seeking 1L Scholars with a diverse background, excellent law school grades, a teamwork mentality and strong intellectual curiosity. If you would like to apply to be a 1L Scholar, please email Michelle Parsons your resume and cover letter at email@example.com. A copy of your unofficial transcript will supplement your application when received in the spring.
