Change Has Come: Navigating Post-Election Changes to the Employment Law Landscape

Legal Services

Please join us for our annual Human Resources Legal Seminar, "Change Has Come: Navigating Post-Election Changes to the Employment Law Landscape," which we are proud to present again in partnership with the Human Resources Association of Middle Tennessee (HRA-MT).

It is significant that the first piece of legislation signed by President Obama was an employment law: The Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act.  Many other labor and employment bills have been introduced that could have a dramatic impact on workplace obligations for years to come, including legislation that Save would effectively take away the secret ballot in union elections, expand discrimination laws to include sexual orientation as a protected category, and increase employer obligations to provide advance notice of reductions in force. This session will include a discussion of the latest labor and employment legislation, as well as a preview of what changes could be in the future. We will also discuss proactive measures to help reduce your workplace exposure in light of employers' new and existing legal obligations to applicants and employees.
