Steven Browne is an attorney with Waller Lansden and practices in the area of trial and appellate law. He has extensive experience in the areas of franchising and distribution, commercial litigation, and employment law. His litigation practice is focused on aggressively obtaining quick resolutions to disputes that are common in the franchise industry. He has experience handling such matters as termination, system standards enforcement, underreporting of sales, development, vicarious liability, and enforcement of non-competition agreements.
Mr. Browne also has experience in general commercial and employment matters, including commercial contracts, sales, and intellectual property enforcement. His transactional practice centers on the regulatory and compliance issues facing franchise systems under the Federal Trade Commission rules and various state franchising statutes and regulations.
Prior to joining Waller Lansden, Mr. Browne was an associate with Schmeltzer, Aptaker & Shepard, P.C., one of the nation's largest franchise litigation practices, based in Washington, D.C.
