Bill Fiala is an associate with Waller Lansden practicing in the area of labor and employment law. Mr. Fiala defends employers in a wide range of industries against allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wrongful discharge. Mr. Fiala recently assisted in a U.S District Court trial in which the jury returned a defense verdict against allegations of retaliation and interference brought under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). He has represented employers in large scale nationwide collective actions involving the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and he has participated in hearings before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and the American Arbitration Association. In addition to FMLA, his experience includes investigating and assisting in the defense of lawsuits and charges brought under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Tennessee Human Rights Act and other state and federal laws.
