Jeb Gerth is an associate in Waller Lansden’s Labor & Employment practice group. His practice includes defense litigation in all areas of employment law as well as daily advice and counsel to employers to avoid litigation. His litigation experience ranges from successfully resolving single-plaintiff, single-claim employment matters under Title VII and other discrimination statutes, to benefits disputes brought under ERISA, to working with Waller Lansden’s multi-plaintiff and class action employment litigation teams. He has successfully obtained summary dismissal in all types of cases including race, age, gender, disability, and religious discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims, and has assisted employers in enforcing non-competition and non-solicitation agreements by securing injunctive relief. Mr. Gerth provides daily advice to employers to assist in implementing effective employment policies, and reduce the legal exposure of day-to-day employment decisions.
Mr. Gerth’s employment practice includes representing companies in a wide variety of industries including manufacturing, healthcare, hospitality retail, insurance, packaging and delivery, and public utilities.
Mr. Gerth regularly speaks to human resources professionals as well as employers and state regulatory agencies on how to improve workplace policies and reduce the risk of litigation, including the Tennessee Human Rights Commission's Employment Law Seminar in the Spring 2010.
A native Nashvillian, Mr. Gerth graduated magna cum laude from Belmont University in 1998 and graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee College of Law where he was nominated to the Order of the Coif.
