Nate Gilmer is an associate with Waller Lansden in the firm’s Healthcare regulatory practice. Mr. Gilmer advises clients on compliance with Medicare fraud and abuse laws, the federal Stark law and other physician self-referral prohibitions. Additionally, Mr. Gilmer provides counsel on healthcare operations and regulatory issues such as Medicare and third party reimbursement and enrollment, managed care contracting and development, and medical staff issues. His experience includes drafting management contracts, provider contracts, medical director agreements, and physician services agreements. Mr. Gilmer also has represented and successfully negotiated settlements on behalf of healthcare clients in Medicare reimbursement audits.
Assisting providers operating throughout the United States, Mr. Gilmer’s experience spans virtually every segment of the healthcare industry, including home health agencies, hospices, hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, senior living facilities and others.
Mr. Gilmer’s experience with health law and regulatory issues also includes advising clients on various state certification, licensure issues, and change of ownership and on compliance with federal and state legislation relating to referral fees. Additionally, Mr. Gilmer provides counsel on regulatory issues as they relate to ongoing litigation and on Certificate of Need (CON) laws. Mr. Gilmer also provides regulatory counsel to clients in the acquisition and disposition of healthcare facilities and companies.
