Philip Head is a partner with Waller Lansden who practices in the areas of commercial real estate transactions, related corporate matters and land use and zoning law. He has significant experience representing real estate private equity funds, real estate investment trusts, owners, developers and investors in connection with the acquisition, disposition, syndication, financing, development and leasing of commercial real estate, with particular emphasis on multifamily, office, industrial and healthcare properties.

Mr. Head regularly represents private equity funds and owner operators engaged in the multifamily sector. In this capacity, he negotiates complex joint ventures and multi-tiered ownership structures necessary for sophisticated acquisition and financing vehicles. Mr. Head has closed apartment acquisitions, dispositions and refinancings with an aggregate value in excess of $500,000,000. Further, he has extensive experience representing borrowers in the financing of multifamily properties through the Fannie Mae Delegated Underwriting and Servicing product line, the Freddie Mac Seller Servicer Program and the HUD/FHA insurance programs.

Mr. Head has successfully represented clients in more than 50 land use and zoning hearings before municipalities, boards of zoning appeals, planning commissions and other governmental agencies. He has extensive experience dealing with the regulatory and zoning issues surrounding the development and siting of wireless communication towers and serves as zoning counsel in Tennessee for one of the nation’s largest wireless communications carriers.

Mr. Head also maintains an active leasing practice representing developers, owners and tenants in connection with stand-alone and multi-tenant office, industrial, and healthcare properties.
