Ted Lenz is a Senior Counsel to Waller Lansden and concentrates his practice in corporate and commercial finance, corporate securities, mergers and acquisitions, and venture capital transactions. Clients he serves include both large, publicly owned companies and small, start-up ventures. He has extensive experience representing real estate investment trusts (REITs), private equity investors and their portfolio companies. He also has represented numerous financial institutions in creating captive real estate investment trusts.

Mr. Lenz has an active practice in representing venture capital providers and start-up companies. In the last year, he represented a regional merchant bank in its purchase and recapitalization of two portfolio companies including a healthcare services provider for which the merchant bank provided or arranged $40 million of senior bank debt and $35 million in common and preferred equity.

During the past year, Mr. Lenz also completed a financial restructuring for a real estate services company that avoided a bankruptcy filing.
