Colleen Sweeney is an associate with Waller Lansden and practices in the firm's Labor and Employment Group, where she concentrates her practice in the areas of employment law, labor relations and all employer/employee-related issues. Ms. Sweeney defends employers in a wide range of industries against allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wrongful discharge. She has represented employers in both single and multi-plaintiff litigation in federal and state courts and arbitrations, both at the trial level and on appeal. Her experience includes investigating and assisting in the defense of lawsuits and charges brought under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Tennessee Human Rights Act and other state and federal laws, and the whistleblower provisions of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX).
Before joining Waller Lansden, Ms. Sweeney was an associate with Dickinson Wright PLLC where she focused her practice on employment litigation.
