Seema Kanwar is an associate with Waller Lansden. Practicing in the area of healthcare regulatory law, Ms. Kanwar advises public and private healthcare companies on fraud and abuse matters, state and federal anti-kickback regulations, and self-referral prohibitions. Ms. Kanwar also advises clients on federal and state privacy laws, including HIPAA and the HITECH Act's new provisions for health information security contained within the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. She also has experience preparing policies and privacy notices, business associate agreements and advising clients on how to respond to security breaches. Ms. Kanwar’s experience includes providing counsel to hospital companies, behavioral healthcare providers, ambulatory surgery centers, and other healthcare providers.
