Mack Cooper is a senior policy adviser at Waller Lansden. For 20 years, Mr. Cooper has spent his career devoted to shaping public policy and ensuring its enactment and implementation. Mr. Cooper’s experience includes serving two Tennessee governors, and throughout this experience he has demonstrated keen insight into the political process and developed long-term relationships with members of both parties.
At Waller Lansden, Mr. Cooper assists businesses and industry groups with strategic planning issues involving the executive and legislative branches of government, as well as commissions, authorities and other special purpose entities. He represents clients before state and local governmental entities in legislative, lobbying, contract, regulatory and administrative matters.
Mr. Cooper also has extensive experience in the regulatory environment in Tennessee as well as at the federal level. As senior policy adviser to the chairman of the Tennessee Regulatory Authority, he worked on telecommunications, electric, water, and gas matters at the state and federal levels, interacting with government officials as well as the organizations that support these various groups.
Mr. Cooper has been recognized as one of Tennessee's “most powerful persons” by Business Tennessee magazine.
