Our environmental attorneys often work closely with attorneys from other Waller Lansden practice groups to address the complex issues and challenges facing our clients.  This team approach to the practice of law ensure that our clients' needs are being met comprehensively and cost-effectively.  Our environmental attorneys assist our corporate attorneys in transactional matters including site selection for new manufacturing and commercial facilities, loans, corporate mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, as well as the purchase and sale of real property and industrial facilities, and SEC and other regulatory filings that have environmental implications.  Working alongside attorneys from our trial and appellate practice, our environmental attorneys represent clients from a wide range of industries in complex tort actions arising from environmental contamination claims alleging personal injuries and injury to property.  Representing individual clients, groups or industry associations, our environmental attorneys prepare and participate in the drafting and development of environmental legislation and regulations.  These efforts are frequently assisted by members of the firm’s government relations practice.

Waller Lansden’s environmental practice extends across the United States, and our offices in Los Angeles and Birmingham, Ala. provide critical support to our ability to represent clients in environmental matters throughout the country.  In Tennessee, our environmental attorneys literally wrote the book on environmental law – the Government Institutes Tennessee Environmental Law Handbook.  Our attorneys are frequent speakers and authors on all aspects of federal and state environmental law.
