Ambulatory Surgery
Every year, more than eight million surgeries are performed in Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs) throughout the country. Waller Lansden has been at the forefront of this rapidly expanding industry since its origins in the early 1980s. Waller Lansden represented one of the first companies focused exclusively on ASCs from its incorporation to its initial public offering and finally the eventual sale of the company. The firm continues to represent many of the largest national surgery center companies, as well as smaller providers operating on local or regional levels. In all, our ASC clients operate more than 325 surgery centers throughout the country. Waller Lansden's experience is virtually unmatched by any law firm - regardless of size or location - when it comes to the acquisition, disposition or restructuring of ambulatory surgery centers in both single and multi-facility transactions. In addition, the firm provides counsel in scores of ASC syndications each year. The firm's transactional experience is complemented by its comprehensive knowledge of the complex regulatory environment in which ASCs operate. This depth of experience is critical to assuring smooth and efficient transactions in what is considered one of the most highly regulated segments of the healthcare industry.
