The University of South Alabama Health System (USA) received a $2 million donation of eight acres of land in Baldwin County from the Mapp Family Foundation to build a new campus, including an ambulatory surgery center, professional medical office building and multi-specialty clinic. USA is an academic health system, providing patient care through its university hospitals and clinics, as well as first-class training experiences for the next generation of providers and scientists.

Waller is serving as counsel to USA in working through the gift and in a joint venture between USA and Surgery Partners for the ambulatory surgery center. Waller’s team of healthcare and litigation partners represents USA on a contested Certificate of Need matter for the ambulatory surgery center before the State Health Planning and Development Agency.
