Music publishers, songwriters sue for copyright infringement

Two major music publishers and four star songwriters were sued in a copyright infringement lawsuit involving the "hook" in a No. 1 pop song ("Sorry") performed by Justin Bieber. The case raised significant issues regarding the protectibility of music composition, as well as the patently false accusations regarding the copying of a sound recording. The case was resolved at the close of discovery.

Waller served as lead counsel for the group of defendants.
