A general contractor became involved in a long-running, complex and hotly contested dispute when its subcontractor on a construction project claimed to be entitled to compensatory damages and $200 million in punitive damages. The dispute involved issues concerning the construction schedule, delay claims, extra work claims, supplementation, project specifications, and the general contractor’s efforts to achieve an early completion bonus.
