Distillery honoring first Jack Daniels Master Distiller opens

Fawn and Keith Weaver dedicated their lives to the recognition and honoring of Nearest Green, an African-American man who was Jack Daniels’ first Master Distiller. They started with a brand of spirits, then formed a foundation to promote and support his legacy and his descendants. They have now opened a distillery in his name and honor in Shelbyville, Tennessee. The distillery is the only African-American-owned and woman-owned distillery in Tennessee.

Waller than obtained all the necessary licenses for the brand ownership and also the distillery by working with federal, state and local officials.
