Regions Bank defends class actions in connection to PPP loans

As part of the U.S. Small Business Administration's Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) during the COVID-19 pandemic, Regions Bank provided loans to businesses that qualified to receive this relief. Shortly after, multiple class action lawsuits were filed against Regions, alleging that the bank was not paying required fees to agents who assisted Regions' borrowers with submitting their PPP loan applications.

Waller, along with Regions' national compliance firm Buckley LLP, is currently representing the bank in three class actions pending in federal courts in Alabama and Florida. We also appeared on our client's behalf before the U.S. Multidistrict Panel.
