Following the development of coronavirus cases in Tennessee, the state's department of health has chosen not to reveal the counties where the patients who tested positive reside. According to this article, 29 states are releasing the county locations of coronavirus patients. So, why not Tennessee? Why not provide that information?
Waller's Kevin Page told reporters, "They're legit questions people are asking." He explained, "HIPPA laws give states discretion whether or not to release county identifiers...If a state feels it isn't necessary for the public's health, they don't have to release it."
