Waller Elects Nine New Partners

Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis, LLP announced the election of nine new partners: Julian Bibb, IV; Matt Bryson; Trip Conrad; Michael Cottone; Mary Julia Hannon; Leslie Vaughn Mahre; Alex Porter; Jeremy Poynter; and Andrew Solinger.

Bibb focuses on intellectual property matters including trademarks, copyrights, software licensing and data privacy. He helps clients across multiple industries safeguard their intellectual properties rights. Bibb earned his J.D. in 2015 from the University of Alabama School of Law where he served as Editor in Chief of The Journal of the Legal Profession. He holds an M.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned his B.A. magna cum laude, from the Sewanne-University of the South where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa. He has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America© Ones to Watch for the past three years.

Bryson represents private companies and financial sponsors in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other investment, financing and exit transactions. Bryson’s experience includes venture and later-stage equity financings, fund formation, corporate restructurings and commercial contracting arrangements. Bryson earned his J.D. in 2015 from Emory University School of Law. He received his B.A. in 2012 from Samford University. He has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America© Ones to Watch since 2021.

Conrad defends employers against allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wrongful discharge brought under federal and state laws. His experience also includes labor relations matters, including participating in collective bargaining negotiations with labor unions and defending employers in administrative hearings before the National Labor Relations Board. Conrad earned his J.D., summa cum laude, in 2013 from the University of Tennessee College of Law, where he graduated Order of the Coif. He received his B.A.¸ magna cum laude, in 2010 from Vanderbilt University. Conrad has been recognized in the area of Labor and Employment Law-Management in The Best Lawyers in America© Ones to Watch for each of the past three years.

Cottone assists clients across industries with a variety of litigation, state and local tax, and unclaimed property matters. Prior to joining Waller, he served as a law clerk for Hon. Eugene E. Siler of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and for Hon. J. Daniel Breen of the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee. Cottone earned his J.D. in 2014, summa cum laude, from the University of Tennessee College of Law where he graduated Order of the Coif and served as Editor in Chief of the Tennessee Law Review. He received his B.A. in 2020 from Middle Tennessee State University. He has been recognized for his tax experience in The Best Lawyers in America© Ones to Watch for the past two years.

Hannon focuses on transactional matters within the healthcare industry including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and divestitures. Her experience includes transactional matters involving hospitals, health systems, ambulatory surgery centers and other healthcare facilities. Hannon earned her J.D. in 2015 from Vanderbilt University Law School where she graduated Order of the Coif. She received her B.A., magna cum laude, in 2012 from Washington University in St. Louis. Hannon is recognized in The Best Lawyers in America© Ones to Watch in the category of healthcare law.

Mahre represents private equity and other financial sponsors and private company clients in complex business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, equity financing transactions, joint ventures, bankruptcy and distressed transactions and general corporate matters. Mahre serves as an adjunct professor and co-director of the Texas Transactional Skills Program at The University of Texas School of Law. Where she earned her J.D. in 2015. She received her B.A. in 2010 from the University of Notre Dame.

Porter advises publicly traded and privately held companies in the healthcare and financial services industries in transactional matters involving the acquisition and disposition of real estate assets. He also provides counsel to real estate developers and owners in the development of mixed-use and multi-tenant office properties. Porter earned his J.D., magna cum laude, in 2015 from the University of Tennessee College of Law where he received a Certificate of Concentration in Business Transactions. He earned his B.S., magna cum laude, in 2011 from the University of Tennessee. He has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America© Ones to Watch in the category of real estate law for the past three years.

Poynter provides counsel on healthcare regulatory compliance and day-to-day operations issues to healthcare providers ranging from hospitals and health systems to behavioral care providers, outpatient services providers and physician and dental practice management companies. Poynter earned his J.D. in 2015 from the University of Tennessee College of Law. He received his B.B.A. in 2012 from Middle Tennessee State University where he served as president of the Student Government Association. He has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America© Ones to Watch in the category of healthcare law since 2021.

Solinger represents clients in responding to investigations, audits and other inquiries brought by federal and state government agencies and regulators including the Department of Justice, the Office of the Inspector General-HHS, U.S. Attorneys' Offices and state healthcare regulators. Solinger earned his J.D. in 2014 from Vanderbilt University Law School. He received his B.A. in 2009 from Johns Hopkins University. Solinger is recognized in The Best Lawyers in America© Ones to Watch in the category of healthcare law.
