Abbey represents global, national and regional borrowers and lenders in finance transactions spanning a wide range of industries, with particular emphasis on healthcare including loans to owners and operators of skilled nursing and other senior living facilities. Abbey's experience also includes cross-border and multi-currency facilities, as well as advising private equity firms and their portfolio companies on a wide variety of financing transactions. She has also represented real estate developers in transactions including tax credit programs and capital raised under the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program.
In 2018, Abbey was recognized by M&A Advisor with an Emerging Leader award for her work in acquisition financing and turnaround transactions. Prior to joining Waller, Abbey was a principal in the Washington, D.C. office of Miles & Stockbridge P.C., after beginning her legal career in the New York offices of international law firms, where she gained valuable experience in complex leveraged finance and capital markets transactions.
Abbey is licensed in the District of Columbia, New York and Virginia. She is practicing in Tennessee subject to Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 7, Article V, Section 5.01(g) pending admission to practice in Tennessee.
Represented a collateral agent in debtor-in-possession and exit financings for an energy company in one of the largest Chapter 11 proceedings in U.S. history, including a $2.5 billion revolving line of credit as well as subsequent $2 billion bond financing transaction.
Represented a lender in $35 million of senior secured revolving and term loan facilities to a U.S. manufacturing company secured by its Indian parent company.
Represented the lender, a private bank, in a $250 million senior secured capital call bridge loan facility for a global growth equity investment firm, including off-shore funds.
